What is this nominee’s involvement in senior care or senior issues
Barbra is an incredibly knowledgable and compassionate person. She is very thorough in training the nursing staff at each facility, so that they are providing the best of care for the residents, and complying with regulations. She is always kind with the patients, staff, and co-workers. She has a sense of humor that is infectious, and keeps everyone laughing as well as motivated to do a better job.
One example of Barb's professional but friendly work ethic is when she was working at a facility and was assigned to go in every resident room and look for any medications, since the residents are not allowed to keep any medications in their room. One resident wrote a three page letter about her encounter with Barbra. She stated that Barbra was "very professional and detailed". She said that Barbra told her that she was not allowed to have any medications in her room, and that she had to talk to the nurse on the unit if she needed any medications. She further stated that she couldn't be upset with Barbra because she was "just doing her job", and also because she "is just so darn cute!"
At another facility, a resident stated that he was very happy to see Barbra because she was so "warm and nice", and that each time she visited the facility she made a point to stop and say hello to him. He said that she always has a smile on her face, and it lights up his face to see her smile.
One of the nurses who works with Barbra said that she is "always available for a call, and is consistently calm, patient, and carefully answers questions".
