2016 Nominees Section
Organization: Attentive Home Care
What role does your nominee have in senior care and senior care issues?
Tywoin has been working with Attentive Home Care for approximately five years. Prior to working with AHC he served in the Conservation Corps of Long Beach recycling program where he gained valuable work experience and job readiness skills while keeping unnecessary items out of landfills.
Tywoin has always wanted a job where he can help others and describes himself as caring, ambitious, and loyal (Tywoin has worked with the same client for all five years he has worked with Attentive Home Care). He is a hard worker and passionate about his work. Tywoin enjoys working with Attentive Home Care because “they really care about the well-being of the patients they serve.”
Why should this person be nominated
Tywoin is always ready to help his clients and his big heart and kindness is like no other. He is happy to have the opportunity to help people and explains that even a small act of kindness can be monumental to a patient. During his first shift in a convalescent hospital, Tywoin worked with a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s who told him that she likely wouldn’t remember him tomorrow. The following day, the same patient told Tywoin, “I remember you…I don’t remember your name but I remember that you were nice to me.”
Outside of work, Tywoin enjoys anything having to do with computers and even has a diploma in computer drafting. He enjoys editing videos for family and friends and once compiled a video for a football team he played on. Tywoin kindness expands outside of his work, he volunteers many hours in the community distributing meals to the homeless.
An interesting fact about Tywoin is that he has 5 children, including fraternal twin girls.
