Joan Cuthbert is a volunteer for the senior "PRIMETIME" program. Joan has volunteered for City Church since 2006 with her Senior program called Primetime. This is a social program geared for the Senior Community in downtown Anaheim. She is a very attentive host to a full 2 hours of games for the mind, sing songs and socializing with all and a very balanced lunch. Last year she gave over 12 cleverly written skits with wit, humor and deep human life experiences. Her compassion for the elderly is shown through her slow tender tone in her speech & flowing silent steps around the room looking at each one face to face. She continues to educate her Seniors about safety at home, safety in travel, phone call scans and many other helpfull tools to keep them from finding themselves in a crisis.
Describe how your Nominee has exceeded his or her Job Description, becoming a hero to you or others. Provide an example or as much detail as possible of the things that they do that go above and beyond their job description.
Joan is a very unique lady with style and class and cares about everyone.
From the very start, Joan cared for her mother with many hours at her side making sure she was wanting for nothing. It's the small things that show her love for others. One time she was so hoarse before her presentation, she still gave the program but had to get someone to talk on her behalf. It was painful but we all appreciated the effort and time she gave to entertain us. She is quite a good writter showing her heart and affection in ways that make you cry.
Through all the years I still find alot of peace and love in each presentation. Joan believes "A cheerful heart is like a strong medicine."
