Dr. Bixby received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her residency she was Chief Resident in the Department of Neurology. One of her passions is conducting research and clinical trials. She has been on the leading edge of drug trials that are just being approved by the FDA.
Presently she works at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. As you might expect, her entire excellent staff emulate the soft and gentle demeanor which Dr. Bixby brings to her practice.
Describe how your Nominee has exceeded his or her Job Description, becoming a hero to you or others. Provide an example or as much detail as possible of the things that they do that go above and beyond their job description.
Dr. Bixby is a Movement Disorder Specialist extraordinaire dealing with Parkinson's and many other neurological diseases. An example of how special this doctor is, she was speaking to 120 people when she mentioned that just before she goes into the exam room, she says to herself: "Please let me use all of my training to help this patient."
Another example of how understanding she is, was when she entered the exam room to find an older Hispanic gentleman sitting in the chair. Standing there, talking to him, she realized that she was 'talking down to him'. She decides to sit on the floor for the rest of the appointment. That is a new kind "Special".
Someone gave her a sign that said, "The Greatest Gift I Could Give a Friend is to Have Dr. Bixby as their Doctor".
That sums up who I consider the best doctor in Laguna Hills - - - Orange County - - - California - - - and you guessed it, in the entire United States.

If ever the question were asked "What are the traits of the perfect doctor?" The simple answer is Dr. Mindy Bixby.
She exudes / emulates / personifies / radiates from every portion of her being the most caring, well educated doctor in existence.
Having her as my Neurologist is the best decision I have ever made.
It warms my heart to know that real kindness and compassion is given to and received by those who are seen by Dr. Bixby. Our world is to often a cold and uncaring place where those who suffer are dismissed as being a bother. Thank you Dr. Bixby!!
I have worked for the best companies, best branch of the military, and in this case had the best care from who I consider the best neurologist who just happens to work for B.E.S.T. Center. Dr. Bixby is the BEST!!!
In Life, we are given choices. Back 4 years ago I chose Dr. Bixby as my Neurologist to walk and guide me down the path of Parkinson's. It was the best possible choice I could have made.
In retrospect, sometimes we question how good that choice was... Doctor Bixby has weathered the test of time as the best choice.
Now we are being asked to vote for what we consider our best choice... There is no question in my mind who I choose.
