2014 Nominees Section
John W. Wang, M.D.
Organization: Circlemed Healthcare
What role does your nominee have in senior care and senior care issues?
Dr. Wang attended the University of Texas in San Antonio, where he graduated with honors and he has received several honors during his career including the Patient’s Choice Award (2011-2013) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011-2013). He was selected as one of the Top 10 Doctors in 2012.
His involvement in senior care and senior medical issues comes from his great respect for seniors, which is why his practice consists heavily of seniors. No doubt that is also why he received the Patient’s Choice Award (2011-2013).
Why should this person be nominated
I am pleased to nominate John W. Wang, MD for the Senior Care Hero Award: Outstanding Physician – General Medicine.
“OC Hospice is very proud to have such an outstanding doctor serving as our Medical Director“, states Lyn Kennedy, CEO and Administrator of OC Hospice. “He has a stellar reputation and thoroughly deserves it!”
John Gutierrez, VP/Business Development at OC Hospice explains, “Dr. John Wang has a big heart, truly cares about his patients and he goes above and beyond for his patients and their families. For instance, OC Hospice had a patient with advanced Dementia. Her family had not taken her to see a doctor in more than a year and she had a lot of issues and problems. She needed help. I called Dr. Wang and told him about her situation and the stress the family was experiencing. Dr. Wang immediately went to her house, took his time to evaluate her and he was able to help the patient and her family.“
“He has an enormous heart, caring deeply about his patients,” agrees Lyn. “He is involved in hospice because of his deep compassion for end-of-life issues and those who are suffering during that time. His dedication to those at the end of life makes him truly unique.”
“Additionally,” Lyn explains, “Dr. Wang is exceptional at communicating with the hospice team. He is always available for anyone on our hospice team and he has clearly been a huge part of the growth of OC Hospice.”
