What is the countdown clock for and when does public voting close?
The Senior Care Hero Awards™ (or SCHA™) process involves a number of stages from the call for nominations, through voting, identifying finalists and presenting the awards. When we count down the voting period, the clock indicates the number of days until public voting will close. The clock will indicate the days remaining in each phase as we work our way up to the awards presentation on October 21st, 2017 at The City National Grove of Anaheim.
How many nominees receive Senior Care Hero Awards™?
How are recipients selected?
There are two types of awards: People's Choice, which are selected by the largest number of popular votes, and those selected by the Council of Advisors and Academy of Leaders. Most of the awards are selected by the Council and Academy, taking into consideration the nomination, comments by registered participants and other factors. What do I get if I receive a Senior Care Hero Award™?
SCHA™ Award recipients will receive the SCHA™ Hero statuette. All SCHA™ Finalists and Nominees will receive a congratulatory certificate. SCHA™ recipients, finalists and nominees will be listed on the SCHA™ web site.
When are the awards presented and do the recipients need to be present to receive an award?
The Senior Care Hero Awards™ ceremony will be held on October 21, 2017 at The City National Grove of Anaheim. Tickets may be purchased through the website. There are scholarships for Finalists whose companies will not sponsor them and for whom purchasing the tickets would pose a financial hardship. Recipients do not need to attend to receive their awards, but are encouraged to send a representative to accept on their behalf.
Are negative comments and reviews allowed?
No. This site is for celebrating the unsung heroes in senior care. SeniorServ reserves the right to reject, edit or delete any rating, review, comment, profile, nomination, or participant registration it feels is outside of the spirit of the awards. Accepting these terms is a condition of using the website or participating in the Awards program.
Can I join the Council of Advisors or the Academy of Leaders?
Is there a fee or any cost at all to make a nomination, be a nominee or receive any of the awards?
The awards are fully sponsored and there is no entry or participation fee.

What are the net proceeds of the Awards used for?
The net proceeds of the Awards are used to benefit seniors in need through the safety net programs offered by SeniorServ, a non-profit that maintains independence, wellness and dignity by securing home, health and heart for our elders.
