Frequently Asked Questions

What is the countdown clock for and when does public voting close?

The Senior Care Hero Awards™ (or SCHA™) process involves a number of stages from the call for nominations, through voting, identifying finalists and presenting the awards. When we count down the voting period, the clock indicates the number of days until public voting will close.  The clock will indicate the days remaining in each phase as we work our way up to the awards presentation on October 21st, 2017 at The City National Grove of Anaheim.

How many nominees receive Senior Care Hero Awards?

One award is presented to the recipient of each category. Nominees are recognized on the website through the entire award process, and finalists will be announced in September.
Note: We reserve the right to eliminate, modify, consolidate or create new categories.
Why isn't there a category for my senior care /health care specialty?

If you don't see a category for your healthcare nominee, please review the Outstanding Senior Care Professional Category. This category was created as a way to include anyone not fitting into the listed categories. If you have suggestions for different categories for next year's event, please send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
