The 9th Annual Senior Care Hero Awards – "This Is Me"
Anaheim, Calif. (April 1, 2019) – SeniorServ is proud to honor the heroes of the 9th Annual Senior Care Hero Awards (SCHA) at its black-tie gala on October 19, 2019 beginning at 5:30pm at the Grove of Anaheim. Referred to as "the Academy Awards of Senior Care," last year's event broke records with our first sold-out crowd, drawing 650 guests, raising $310,000 and recognized over 80 outstanding senior care industry and community advocates.
Highlighting our mission of preserving the dignity and identity of our seniors, this year SeniorServ invites us to look beyond the "face" of aging into the whole person through our theme "This Is Me". This theme refers to all the "Me's" that a person has been and still can be, and encourages us all to see beyond the grey and wrinkles to the “Me” inside our seniors. That "Me" is worthy of our respect and assistance.
We are proud to announce that our Humanitarian honoree this year will be Ed Schrum, Co-Founder,and Senior Management Executive of CareCHOICES. For over 30 years, Ed has led the charge in assisting seniors and their caregivers in courageously facing the challenges brought about by disease processes and other physical issues that can often accompany aging. In 2009 He founded Sonnet Home Health and in 2010 merged with St. Michaels Hospice into CareCHOICES. He serves on several non-profit boards, and spends many hours of his personal time volunteering in different capacities to better the lives of Long Term Nursing Home residents and providing Laundry assistance for homeless people in his community.
Nominations and voting are open to everyone starting June 1st and continuing through August 31st at www.seniorcareheroawards.org.
