SENIOR CARE HERO AWARDS

Eligibility and Guidelines

The Senior Care Hero Awards, also known as SCHA, is a program of Community SeniorServ, Inc., a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, hereafter referred to as SeniorServ. SeniorServ retains the right to change or modify these guidelines at any time with or without notification.

Voting Process There are two types of awards: People's Choice, which are selected by the largest number of popular votes, and those selected by the Council of Advisors and Academy of Leaders. Most of the awards are selected by the Council and Academy. There are three phases or rounds of voting:

Round 1 – Open call for nominations and popular voting: Any participant whose registration has been accepted on the website may nominate individuals in pre-defined categories and vote on anyone who has been nominated. Registered participants may vote once a day per category.
People's Choice award recipients: Selected by the largest number of popular votes in Round 1.

All other award recipients: Selected through the process in Rounds 2 and 3, although the person with the most popular votes in each category in Round 1 may advance to the finalist list for consideration in Round 3.

Round 2 - Council of Advisors narrows the field: The Council of Advisors is a group of professionals in the senior industry who have been invited to "narrow the field of nominees" to create the finalist list for the Academy of Leaders' final vote in Round 3. Council members may be nominated for an award but will be recused from voting in the category for which they are nominated.
Round 3 – Academy of Leaders select the recipients: Academy members will participate in a blind vote and will be assigned a certain number of categories on which to vote. Academy members may be nominated for an award but will be recused from voting in the category for which they are nominated.

SeniorServ retains the exclusive right to revise the final selection of recipients and/or the categories for which recipients have been selected if any concerns or issues arise about a nomination, voting process or other factors that may impact the final selection.

Council and Academy members are not allowed to vote in any category where a Nominee or Finalist is a member of their own company.

Nominations:
Members of the general public, the Academy of Leaders and the Council of Peers are invited to nominate senior care professionals within the categories listed on the www.SeniorCareHeroAwards.org website.
