What is this nominee’s involvement in senior care or senior issues
Nancy has been a lifesaver for one of my clients. She goes above and beyond what is required. When a client, we'll call her Alice, lost her loved one who she had been caring for in her home even with her failing health, Nancy was even more diligent in observing her. She noticed Alice was distraught and shared that she was feeling like she didn't want to live anymore. Nancy immediately alerted me, her case manager, so that I could contact Alice and do a safety check on her mental state. When a short while later Alice suffered a fall, Nancy was there when the ambulance took her. She visited Alice when she was in the hospital. When Alice was released from hospital, Nancy continued visiting her at the skilled nursing facility. Nancy feels so strongly about supporting "her" lady, Alice, who is completely homebound that she has gone out on her own time and picked up Alice's prescriptions, money orders so she can pay her bills and even stamps so she can mail them. Nancy has collected books and clothing for Alice so she has something to do and proper clothing so she is encouraged to continue her rehab at home.
Nancy doesn't feel that any of this is extraordinary, but I do! She's a hero to me and to Alice" - and to so many more!!
