Dr. Omidvar is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I've met. He goes way above and beyond what is required of a physician, to provide excellent service to his patients, and ensure they are getting the appropriate care they need. Some examples:
1) Dr. Omidvar had a patient who was low income, so had limited monetary resources to get care. She has an autoimmune disorder that affects the brain and spinal cord. She called his office seeking help, and explained that she had limited financial resources. He invited her to his office, and offered her diagnosis and treatment for her illness at a greatly reduced rate. He researched and found medications from overseas for her that were also at a very reduced rate. Any time she calls or sends emails to him, and he always takes time to patiently answer her questions.
2) This 72 year old gentleman has been in Dr. Omidvar's care for treatment of Parkinson's. He has been a long term patient, and is normally very lucid. One day his family called Dr. Omidvar with great concern- the gentleman was repeatedly calling 9-1-1, but they were false claims of an emergency. Dr. Omidvar drove to the patient's home, between his other appointments, checked this gentleman, and assisted him to calm him down and ensure that he returned to his usual cognitive functional level.
3) This 72 year old woman has also been in Dr. Omidvar's care for Parkinson's treatments, and for management of her Deep Brain Stimulator. This patient has poor balance, and has a history of many falls. She uses assistive devices to ambulate. Whenever her husband calls Dr. Omidvar for an appointment for his wife, Dr. Omidvar always makes time in his schedule to see her. He has called physicians out of state, when this woman takes trips, to ensure continuity of her care. And he has seen her several days in a row, when her disease had progressed and she needed extra medical attention.
