Why should this person be nominated? (What makes nominee unique; why should they be selected the winner of this category?
Mr. Twaiten is a long-term family caregiver, providing care to his wife, Vera, for the past 12 years. He has used his resources to ensure great care for his wife and has utilized the Caregiver Resource Center for support throughout the years. He is a donor to the organization and other non-profits, gratefully giving back, saying, "I'm so thankful for the help I receive everyday."

What is this nominee’s involvement in senior care or senior issues
Mr. Twaiten expemplifies a "family caregiver hero" as he is such a loving, caring, and devoted husband. He provides and oversees the care of his wife since she can no longer eat on her own, walk, and has difficulty with speech. While they are both near 80 years old and have coped with the aftermath of Vera's stroke for 12 years, he maintains a postive attitude.

He not only cares for her, but tends to his own well-being, taking regular respite breaks. Mr. Twaiten has been a client of the Caregiver Resource Center since 2001 when he reached out after his wifes's stroke to get support. His positive attitude during the caregiving journey can teach us all to be thankful everyday for health, family, and the support we have.
