Senior Care Hero Awards: June Dittman, nominee
for Senior Care Hero at Large OR Volunteer of the Year – Peoples Choice

Judy Dittman has been an active volunteer for The City of Irvine’s Senior Services Department for more than 7 years. During this time, she had worked over 1,800 hours as an Office Assistant Volunteer for the Keen Center for Senior Resources and Outreach which is located at Lakeview Senior Center in Irvine, CA. The Keen Center supports mature adults and their families throughout the senior’s lifespan. This includes developing services that respond to physical, emotional, economic and social challenges that threaten the independence, security and well-being of the senior.
June’s dedication to her volunteer commitment at the Keen Center is exceptional. She provides professional and caring service, assisting callers in responding to questions and locating resources. Furthermore, she shares her expertise and acts as a role model to our new volunteer trainees.
In addition, June has volunteered over 6,300 hours for Irvine Regional Hospital and Hoag Irvine. Sheri Sumner, Director of Volunteers, enthusiastically agreed that June deserves recognition for her contributions. June’s current responsibilities at Hoag Irvine include Gift Shop Attendant, Thursday Shift Leader for Volunteer Transportation and Parliamentarian for the Volunteer Board.

In summary, June has been an incredible asset to individuals facing challenges in our community and a great role model for others seeking opportunities to serve!

What is this nominee’s involvement in senior care or senior issues
For more than seven years, June has been an incredible asset to seniors facing challenges in our community. As a volunteer, She has demonstrated a high level of dedication, sharing her time and talents with those in need.
Regarding attached photo; June is the individual in the center holding the CPRS award that was presented to the Keen Center For Senior Resource Team for "Creating Community through Partnerships and Service Opportunities", 2013.
