What role does your nominee have in senior care and senior care issues?
Moe Togafau is a gentle giant among caregivers and the standard bearer for care at ActivCare at Brittany House in Long Beach. He is a very compassionate person who sees to the needs of residents, family members and employees alike. Don’t let his size fool you, Moe’s tender care and reassurance offers comfort to residents daily. He is committed to their well-being and has earned the trust of family members. With a commanding presence and calm demeanor, he quickly puts residents and their families at ease. If Moe says that all will be okay, it assuredly will.

Born in Samoa, Moe comes from a big family from Hawaii. It was those familial relationships that instilled the value of people in him. But, caregiving wasn’t always his pursuit. He used to operate large laundry facilities. He recognized early that it was not the machinery, but it was the people that truly made a difference. In January 2011, Moe originally applied for a position as a Laundry Attendant at the community. Upon meeting Moe and hearing about his caring nature, Colleen Rozatti, the executive director, soon realized that Moe was a treasure. His wealth of love and understanding were best applied to the role of caregiver; a position in which he quickly thrived. He has gone on to become a program leader and is a trusted friend among his colleagues. Moe is a true hero every day.
